Camping!!

Arrived in Paros yesterday night. Staying at a place called Camping Naoussa. As the name suggests, it's a camp site. We've been issued with tents & sleeping bags. Not much to do here. So far, we have walked to the closest town (about 1/2 hour away) for supplies, and walked up a large hill because it was there.

One and a half more days then back to Athens.

Island paradise

Lying in bed in our room in Santorini, enjoying the sun coming through the windows. We arrived yesterday after a 8 hour ferry ride in very flat seas, got a cold beer and lay by the pool till the sun went away. Our hostel is in the town of Perissa, 30m from the beach. Might spend some time on the sand today, no major plans apart from that.

GREECE!!!!

We are in Greece now!! We arrived last night after flying with easyjet from London. Easyjet were surprisingly good and we all had a comfortable 3.5 hour flight. We arrived at the Monostariki metro station in Athens to find the first view of the acropolis all light up pretty. Our hostel is pretty good, located right in the middle of the city, close to everything we wanted to see and do.

Today we headed out to the markets for some perusing and purchasing. The food here is so cheap, and we feasted on flat breads with tomatoes, cheese and salami for breakfast and lunch. Then it was off to join the rest of the tourists at the Acropolis. The old stuff was amazing and we spent all day wandering around various parts of the old stuff that was on display. Including; the Parthenon, Temple of Athena Nike, the Agora, an old amphitheatre, Temple of Olympian Zeus and the olympic stadium from the first modern olympics (1896). See photos below.

Agora

Olympic Stadium

Temple of Olympian Zeus

Tomorrow we meet up with Brads Dad for a bit more Athens touristyness before heading out to Santorini for a bit of rest and relaxation at the beach.

London touristy times

More sunny days in London, more tourist times. Wandered out to Greenwich and the house that Mels dad grew up in. Went to the Natural History Museum (go London's free museums!). Photos below.

Off to Greece in a few hours.......

Havn't done too much for the last few days, went to the Science Museum on one day.

Ryan arrived yesterday at 9ish in the morning. We allowed him a 1 hour nap, then hit up London. Wandered past St Pauls to the Brough Markets for yummy free samples, had a picnic in the sun and saw the london eye. Saw Big Ben and Westminster Abby then walked down the Thames home again.

Had the most english of dinners, curry and beer. mmmm, curry.

Go to Greece in two days.

26 long hours

Well, we finally made it after two very long plane journeys. The flights were boring (particularly the second half as we had no inflight entertainment). London weather is up to its usual standard (grey and rainy) but we are hoping for an improvement in the days to come. Watching top gear on dave (go dave...) and trying (not overly sucessfully) not to go to sleep till its at least dark.

My iPod is awesome!

Practice post from my iPod, just to make sure I can. Practice picture as well, only one of Mel & I on my iPod.

Thinking about packing while sitting in front of the fire, eating humus, watching the rain. Checked in online today, we're sitting in row 34 if you care.

First!

We have a blog, how fancy.

Currently at T-5 days and counting down for Brad and Mel's big adventure. Money is in a British back account, work is all finished and bags are beginning to be packed. Flights, trains and ferries are booked. Hostels are booked. Best of all, Athens has stopped burning. Perfect.

Anyway, you'll can keep up with us via this blog. We'll endeavour to maintain it so that it's reasonably up-to-date. That way we only have to update one source and everyone can just keep an eye on that. Gotta love modern technology.
